I also didn't know that the kings of Assyria belived that the directions of pictures of gods tey had in thier palace would bring them bad luck.
Lastly I didn't know tat the Babylonians counted stars to figure out were a planet would be every year.

I FOUND OUT THAT THE FIRST CIVILIZIONS WERE BUILT SIX THOUSAND YEARS AGO. THAT IS ALSO WHEN THE FIRST WRITEING WAS FORMED.THEY ALSO THOUGHT THAT DEMONES TOOK THE FORM OF BIRDS.

the assyrians made citys pay the king tribute. in warfare they used bows, spears, shields and war engines. if a city didn't pay tribute the assyrians would attack their city and force the people who lived there to settle somewhere else.

Anonymous said...

One thing I learned is that the Assyrian army could not be defeated by anyone except by a few armies because of their good weapons and because of being well trained. I also learned that Mesopatamia didn't have many natural resources so they needed to trade to get the resources they needed in order to live some of the things they traded are- grains, oils, and textiles. One other thing I learned is that the Assyrian palaces are some of the largest and most important buildings found in Mesopatamia.

Anonymous said...

I learned that the king actually performed his religious rituals there in his palace. Also, palaces were built to instill fear in the peasents AND to show how powerful the king was.

Anonymous said...

I found out the astronomers of Babylon were a special group of scribes who observed the movements of the stars and planets.
The astronomers had many different responsibilities.
Also demons were created by the gods with human bodies and animal or bird heads. They could be either evil or good. Monsters were a mixture of animals and birds.
Also Northern Mesopotamia is made up of hills and plains. The land is quite fertile due to seasonal rains, and the rivers and streams flowing from the mountains.

asiria places are some of the largest and most important anciant places in mesopatamia,i also learned that mespatamia was a place that didnt have many natural resourses, and i learned also that graines, oils and textiles were taken from babalon to forenge cities and extange for timber wine precious metals and stones

From about 900 B.C. Assyrian kings sent out their armies to conquer new lands. Over 300 years Mesopotamia and lands further to the east and west became part of an Assyrian empire. Conquering foreign cities brought wealth.
Demons were created by the gods with human bodies.

Anonymous said...

if they had to transpartate grains wheat or corn and stuff like a boat would best be used for that.

Anonymous said...

Gods and Godesses created demons. Assyrian palaces are some of the biggest buildings in Mesopotamia. From about 900B.C. Assyrians sent their armies to attack other Mesopotamians cities.

I didn't know that the Bull-man was a demon. He was a man above the waist and a bull below the waist. The Bull-man helps fight evil and chaos. He holds the gates of dawn open for the sun god Shamash and supports the sun disc.He is often shown on cylinder seals.Another god I didn't know about was Ellil. Ellil was one of the most powerful gods, he was so powerful that the other gods couldn't even look at him.He was therefore only shown as a horned cap. Ellil'smain city was Nippur.Kings from all over Mesopotamia sent him offerings. Ellil was the father of many other important Mesopotamian gods and goddesses.Ellil guards the "tablets of destiny." Those are cuniform tablets on which he writes the fate of everything on earth. The third thing i didn't know was the earliest writting was based on pictograms. Pictograms were used to communicate basic information about crops and taxes.

There was a deamon called Bull man! A big ziggurot was made in 4000 B.C.! Money has been used for 5000 years. Assyrian palaces were one of the biggest building in all of Mesopotamia. Conquering a empire ofin brought weath to the emprie that destrorys it. Mesopotamia had no natural reasoures so they had to trade with other countrys to get stuff like grain, oils, textures, and alot more!

Anonymous said...

That over 300 years Mesopotamia and lands furhter to the east and west became part of an Assyrian empire. That grain oils and textiles were taken from Babylonea to foreign cities and exchanged for timber, wine, precious metals and stones. That by 2000 B.C, mudbrick ziggurats were being constructed in many Sumerian cities and later ziggurats were constructed in Babylonia and Assyrian cities.

They traded and transported grains, oils and textiles(otherwise known as cloth or fabric)were taken from babylonia to foreign cities and exchanges for timber, wine, precious metals and stones. The astronomers of Babylon were a special group of scribes who observed the movements of the stars and planets. From about 900b.c. Assyrian kings sent out thier armies to conquer new lands. Over 300 years Mesopotamia and lands further to the east and west became part of an Assyrian empire.Regions which had been conquered by the Assyrian army had to pay tribute(known as materials or valuables given by one area to the ruler of the controlling coutry)to the king every year.If they rebelled, or refused to obey someone, against his rule, or refused to give tribute, the king would lead his army against them.Assyrian palaces are some of the most important ancient building found in Mesopotamia. They demonstrate the wealth and achievements of the Assyrian empire in the first millennium B.C.From 1922 to 1934, an archaeologist named C. Leonard Woolley excavated the site of the ancient Sumerian city of Ur.He made many great discoveries about the people who lived there.Temples were originally built on platforms.During the third millenniumB.C., these were made higher and bigger.Eventually it was decided to build even higher temples on platforms which were stepped. That is MORE THAN 3 things i discovered from this site!!=)

I didnt know that Assraians used stone pictures in the wall to keep magical spirits away from the king. The Babylonians charted the movement of the stars and planets.
